Hi
I was connected on the 6th of Dec and have only been getting slow speed checks on the ADSL GUIDE site(nothing over 1mb) i just wanted to know if this is the norm until the line sorts its self out as my Belkin router shows 8128 /448 data rates.
Thanks
Mike
Sorry for the delay,
Is your speeds going up and down or staying static.

Hi
Well i have done several checks using the adsl guide speed checker and the slowest was 100k & the highest was about 900k but i did one today and got 2.5meg just done one now and got 1.5meg is this ok?
Mike
Your speeds will go up and down for 10 days and when BT find your highest setting (speed wise) then thats what your profile will be set at.
Best wishes.

Hi Mike,
Check it after the 10 day period as it is possible for your IP profile to become stuck. http://speedtester.bt.com/
Mine seemed to be stuck at 2mb despite being synced at 7.8mb. After the support team got onto the issue speeds finally went up to 5.8mb (can't check IP profile as the tester no longer works for me) .
However, speeds have been bad the last few days, lowest result was 0.1mb and the fastest has dropped to 3.8mb, all the while being synced at 7.8mb.
Depends what pipe your on as well. Please visit http://rate.entachoice.org.uk/central.cgi and this will show you what Entanet pipe your on and if its running in the green.
