Hi Brian and all forum readers.

I have requested interleaving to be turned off but it is still on. The same as another post on the forum. :(

I raised a ticket that closed in a few days but the line remained the same.

The request has been submitted manually into BTs systems to disable the interleaving again. With an approximate delay of 24 hours to complete the request.

> 24 hours has passed but there is no change in line status/ping.

I will give it a while longer and check the line status each day to see when it gets done.

I've got interleaving on ...........whats the problem?
I've got a 7000 profile, switching off interleave will give me another 150kbps ...big deal. I'll stick with a stable connection ;)

I play on line games, so I want a lower ping.
Turning interleaving off is an option.
I have requested interleaving off.
Several requests.
Still on.
BT useless.

Yes indeed but BT are having problems and we can only request it until a fix is found.

Your message send to our complaints dept has been responded to, please send these sort of support requests to support.

Interleaving is indeed off on your account and if its still showing as on at you end, then I would call Entanet direct and get them to log a fault with BT because its a well know error with BT and not us or Entanet.

Emailed Entanet direct and they replied that I have to contact ADSL24. I explained that I have made several requests.
See their reply below:

Thanks for your email, however please be aware that you will need to
contact your partner company, ADSL24 to request this.

Hi just wondering if you turn the interleaving off, will it affect the line connection if you had these stats?

Line Attenuation 58 db
Noise Margin 6 db

Are you getting a lot of errors reported by your router?

Guyver

No errors at moment, but just wondering will it create errors if i was to turn it off.

Do you see any corrected errors being reported?

Good news for yor game playing Wizander.

I have still not had interleaving turned off on my line. My pings are 40+.
It is so frustrating that nothing happens after repeated requests to have interleaving turned off.

As I have stressed a few times that BT are having problems and also Entanet have told your the same via email as follows:

"However, I can advise that we have had a few cases recently whereby we submit an interleaving request through, the modify completes, but no change is made".

Therefore a report is in with BT and it will be done when its done.

Interleaving is turned off with a drop of about 20 in the ping.

Thanks Brian. Persistence pays off in the end.

Would some kind patient person please explain how I check the status of interleaving on my line? I confess I don't fully understand the pros / cons, but I'm curious to at least see my own status...

Thanks

If you router shows your Downstream Path Mode (or something with a similar name) as Fast, interleaving is not being used. Alternatively, raise a support ticket asking for the status of interleaving for your line.

Well, I think I did Ircsum...bearing in mind I don't really understand what Interleaving is!! You were very helpful BTW...

Jem

Brain tells me it's set to 'Auto'...

Ircsum
28/02/2007, 23:07
AUTO is the default setting. Basically it means that it can come on if DLM (Dynamic Line Management) decides your line is becoming unstable and it should then revert once the instability has passed.

Other settings are OPT IN (on all the time, irrespective of line conditions) and OPT OUT (off, irrespective of line conditions).

BT have been having problems with interleaving for several months - mine got jammed on last August, didn't get it removed until December. You'll see posts her by people trying to get interleaving turned off; says a bunch about BT's efficiency in getting anything sorted.
