Laugh its still in its box Cliff, thought I would get myself on here first with my modem and let me worry about that second.

but it looks simple enough to install with the cd, just have to remember there is the unsername and password, and the a little further on I need another password, accordingly to the online manual on here.

Raceylady, I was activated yesterday and after a minor problem, my end, I am getting excellent speeds, 7.1mb/sec download on a speed test site

raceylady

Just switched on now this morning to see what is what, but I think I am still with tiscali, I had a connection straight away without entering any new username or password.

Racey me lady,

Why not try again after entering the new username and password?
Then may be you could try setting up new email addies.

Have been following your expedition for the last few days and I am waiting in anticipation to know how you get on .... ;)

As Blue Max says you will have to enter your ADSL24 details and then you should be connected ok!

Have you tried your new login details yet raceylady? You won't necessarily be disconnected from your old connection immediately, but may well find that your new login works ... although if I recall you're using a modem rather than a router so it may well be different for you.

In any case, even though your migration date is today, it might be lunch time or so before it's actually activated so keep trying :)

raceylady
28/02/2007, 10:22
No surfer chick I haven't yet, I thought I would get a screen up saying no connection or something, perhaps I should try this then.

Ircsum
28/02/2007, 10:29
Your old login will continue to work for a period after activation to Adsl24. You simply need to put your new details in the modem and reconnect. If you got a specific time of day for the activation, wait until it has passed before trying. Best of luck. ;)

I have just tried the new name and password in tools and interenet options, and then rebooted, but I got a window up saying access was denied name and password invalid on domain.

So I have switched back to tiscali and it works, so i assume I have not been migrated yet.

Ircsum
28/02/2007, 10:42
Looks that way. :)

Were you given a specific time of day for the migration?

Ircsum.

raceylady
28/02/2007, 10:44
No I dont think so, just says the date on the email I received, perhaps I need to swtich off and let them get on with it.

Ircsum
28/02/2007, 11:07
It'll happen when it happens. Leave it until after lunch, or later, and you may get a pleasant surprise.

raceylady
28/02/2007, 13:39
Well I think I have done it, put my new name and password in and rebooted and I'm typing away on here now, so I assume thats it.

My goodness I've actually got sommat right for a change.

Hello everyone.:)

Just a query here, during the last 20 mins or so, my line was dropping every couple of mins. I have it set to redial every five secs until connected.

Is this usual when just migrated.

Ircsum
28/02/2007, 17:33
May suggest a retraining, perhaps. Don't let it worry you for now, may take time to settle down.

Welcome raceylady. Yesterday/last night I was getting fantastic download speeds, but don't know about tonight. At least its still fast!
Oh, I'm on the 'always on' connection of 8mb

raceylady
28/02/2007, 21:12
My speed is ok just under 6mb, not grumbling at that
:)

AORman
28/02/2007, 21:16
Before tweaking my connection for the new 8mb one I was on a 1mb with Pipex and had it tweaked to get about 850kBs/sec on a speed test, but in reality never really got anywhere near that when downloading files etc.
Anyway, before I tweaked for the new speed I was getting 6.6mb, and after tweaking I got 7.1mb!

My connection has really speeded up after some tweaks by Robbie

Getting close to the 100 Mbps that I am after. ;)

I'm another 'satisfied' Tiscali customer that has just signed up to ADSL24, looking forward to decent speeds and customer service. :)
