I have the mAx office package and before I went away for 6 weeks was getting a download speed of around 6000kbps, now it's only 480kbps.
I've checked the local exchange and there are no issues, any idea as to what might be wrong?

What does the BT Broadband Perfomance Tester (http://www.speedtester.bt.com/) report?

Here are the results from the BT speedtest site:
"Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 192 kbps(UP-STREAM) 768 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 447 kbps
If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP."
For some reason my IP profile is only 500kbps, what is that all about?

It's because your sync speed is only 768 kbps. Have you tried rebooting your router?

I tried rebooting before I posted the mail, is it possible BT are restricting the speed?
While I was away my wife told me that the connection failed altogether, she changed the connection into the main phone line instead of the extension I had been using and got the connection re-established but seems like at this slow speed.

Have you tried the test socket at the back of the master socket? This eliminates any internal wiring as the cause of the problem.

Thanks for your help Tim, tried the test socket but no joy, ran the BT speed test again, this is what it says before the results appear:
"The Performance Tester is now testing Broadband connection. Your configured download throughput speed for this service is 500 k"
Looks like for some reason my maximum speed is being restricted by BT, do you think?

What does your router give your sync speed as when connected to the test socket?

Doesn't look good to me. It looks like you've got a fault on your line. You'd best raise a support ticket with Adsl24.

Thanks Tim
I suspect something has gone wrong while I was away, wife and children in charge :o) and that BT are restricting my speed, will take your advise and raise a ticket.
Cheers
